Biography

Dr. Bhekisisa Jacob Mthembu is a corporate strategist, author and social entrepreneur, with a deep drive to socio – economic through quality eduction. Dr Mthembu believes without a shred of doubt that anyone can achieve in life regardless of their present circumstances. This perspective guilds his beliefs and consequently his actions as a dedicated family man an accomplished corporate leader and philanthropist. It is also the reason why Dr Mthembu is looking for opportunities to speak at corporates events, serve on non-profit boards and partner with communities across the country to make a great impact.
As a public servant with over two decades of corporate experience, Dr Mthembu has built an admirable brand as a seasoned strategist and honed his repustion as a “strategic fixer” in the public sector. Over the years, he has served in various positions including Manager, strategy and transformation, Director – Strategic Services, Municipal Manager Amatole District Municipality.
He is the author of two books, “Set your own goal” Leadership journey imagined, and Made to believe in your abilities. In these books, Dr Mthembu takes his readers on a journey through his personal and professional life, whilst sharing practical nuggets to empower anyone seeking true personal mastery and leadership success. He also shares the strategies found in these books as a keynote speaker.
Through his personal grass-to grace original story coupled with his deep seated passion for social change Dr Mthembu founded the Bhekisisa foundation a community focused non-profit organisation with a mandate to empower the youth from impoverished communities to rise above the status quo. It is Dr Mthembu conviction that with the right support and guidance, education can be a tool for positive social change and that is what his foundation seek to achieve through strategic partnerships.
Dr Mthembu has recently been elected as the president of the black Business Management Forum for a three-year term.
